Guardian-dog research turns up many regional and provincial names — local labels for dogs that, on current evidence, are not (yet) established as distinct breeds. Rather than publish a breed page that the research can’t support, we group these honestly by the wider complex they belong to. Each group lists the labels we’ve researched, what the evidence says, and the parent breed they relate to. Determinations change as new studies are found.
